Should your Slingamebobs items arrive in less than satisfactory condition or you are unhappy with your order please contact me. I am happy to accept returns within 14 days of receipt providing they are unused. Please bare in mind I am 1 person producing all items by hand so some items may vary slightly from the photographs and have their own unique quirks and characteristics. Necklaces are made from many different wrap scraps giving different lengths and thicknesses. *
*Due to the nature of wooden teethers I do not accept returns for these.
I will update the stock regularly but if you have a specific request please feel free to contact me.
Yes! I am happy for you to send your own scraps but please be aware there maybe a waiting list. For a necklace I would need approx full wrap x 15cm for the necklace and an extra 5cm if a pendant is required.
The length can vary from one necklace to another, it can depend on the length and thickness of the fabric used but on average they range from 48-55cm approx. It is possible to make a necklace extender to make the necklace longer. Please contact me for more information. It may be worth checking my action shots gallery on my Facebook page to see what the necklaces look like on customers.
I am a very busy mum of 3 children and work around them as and when I can so please bare with me, I will try to list new items as regularly as I can.
I use very strong plastic snaps.
The necklaces are to be strictly worn by adults only.
Yes, that is one of the main features of a Slingamebobs necklace, to help the parent feel good as well as distracting those little wandering hands.
All the fabric wrap scraps that I use are made by reputable companies that only use safe dyes and are designed for carrying babies therefore should not harm the child If sucked. Many of my baby wearing parents say Slingamebobs necklaces help stop little ones from chewing and damaging their baby carriers!
It is always best to hand wash Slingamebobs necklaces, preferably In warm soapy water, and rinsed well after to ensure any soap is removed. It is also possible to wash them in a washing machine on a cool/low temperature wash, I would advise popping the necklace in a sock or pillow case before popping in the machine first. Please make sure when washing you necklaces to ALWAYS remove the teether/pendant first and store this in a high up place away from little hands as Slingamebobs teethers are NOT designed to be handheld teether.
I often refer to them as pendants as I feel Slingamebobs necklaces can be worn by anyone as a fashion piece not just as a teething aid. Infant many of my customers go on to wear them many years after their breastfeeding and babywearing days are over.
Yes! We now do all the woodwork also. The pendants are tested in an independent laboratory to safety test EN71-3
We used 2 different hardwoods, British Birch wood which is sourced locally to me here in Mid-Wales and American black walnut wood sourced through a local small business.
If untreated or finished with a natural food safe oil they are much safer and can have many more benefits than plastic teethers. I only use organic flaxseed oil which helps prolong the life of the wood.
Wooden teether information and care instructions:
Wood is naturally anti-bacterial. Bacteria generally does not sustain life for long and does not duplicate on wood like it can on plastic. However should you want to clean the teether just use a slightly damp cloth to wipe over. Never submerge your wooden teether in water or allow them to be wet for a long time, wood can absorb the water thus making the grain slightly rough. Should this happen you can simply use an extra fine sandpaper above grit 400 and then apply a thin layer of food safe oil such as flaxseed oil, you can just use your clean hands to rub it in or a clean cotton cloth.
My teethers have all been hand crafted and sanded to a smooth finish and an organic flaxseed oil applied to help prolong the life of the wood. There may be a few natural rough spots which is nothing to worry about but there should be no raised grain. Wood adapts to its surroundings so will lose and collect moisture easily, so please bare this in mind when deciding where to store your teethers. Due to the nature of wood each piece will be completely unique in appearance and may contain knots and flecks in the grain, which gives them wonderful character.
Important information
My wooden teethers have been safety tested to en71 – 3 however it is important to follow these instructions to ensure continued safety.
